Understanding Your Pension,
Clearly and Carefully
Aroon Legal works with retirees and pension claimants in northern Thailand to review entitlements, support applications, and coordinate matters across multiple authorities — at a measured pace, with clear written communication throughout.
Our Pension Legal Services
Each service is carried out at a considered pace, with written summaries provided so that you always know where matters stand.
Pension Plan Review
A careful, sit-down review of an existing pension arrangement for individuals already drawing pension benefits or approaching retirement. We cover the calculation basis, any supplements or deductions applied, and compare findings with your contribution history.
- Written summary of findings
- Calculation basis explained clearly
- Discrepancies identified in writing
Disability Pension Support
Assistance with applications for disability pension entitlements, where medical and procedural documentation requirements can be extensive. We coordinate with you to assemble the full application file in the form expected by the relevant authority.
- Medical records coordination
- Application file preparation
- Procedural guidance at each step
Cross-Authority Recovery
A long-form service for clients whose pension matters span more than one authority — such as a state pension, an occupational scheme, and a private contribution. We begin with a comprehensive review and coordinate written engagement with each authority in turn.
- Single point of contact throughout
- Consolidated written updates
- Multi-authority coordination
A Different Kind of Counsel
We work with a small caseload so that each matter receives proper attention. You are not passed between departments.
Thorough Review Practice
Every engagement begins with a careful reading of all available documentation before any opinion is offered.
Clear Written Communication
Findings, recommendations, and progress updates are always provided in writing — in plain language you can refer back to.
Dedicated Point of Contact
You work with one person throughout your matter. No handoffs, no need to repeat yourself to a new person each time.
Measured, Unhurried Process
Pension matters often involve complex timelines. We set expectations clearly and do not create artificial urgency.
Northern Thailand Familiarity
Based in Chiang Mai, we understand the administrative landscape and the practical circumstances of retirees in the region.
Discretion as Standard
Client information is handled with strict confidentiality. We do not discuss cases externally and maintain secure document handling throughout.
Would a Second Opinion on Your Pension Be Worthwhile?
Many pension matters are more straightforward than they first appear. A single review session can clarify what you are receiving, what you may be entitled to, and whether any further steps are worth considering.
Questions We Often Hear
What does a pension plan review involve?
We sit down with you and go through your pension documentation in detail — the calculation basis, any deductions or supplements applied, and how those figures compare with your employment and contribution history. The session concludes with a written summary of our findings and, where relevant, a note on any options worth exploring.
How long does a disability pension application take?
Timelines depend on the completeness of the medical and employment documentation available and the processing pace of the relevant authority. In our experience, well-prepared applications tend to move more smoothly. We will give you a realistic picture of what to expect at the outset, and keep you informed as the matter progresses.
My pension comes from more than one source. Can you help?
Yes — this is precisely what our Coordinated Cross-Authority Pension Recovery service addresses. We begin with a full review of all relevant correspondence and documentation, then work through each authority in sequence. You have one person to contact throughout, and receive consolidated updates as each strand of the matter develops.
Are fees fixed or do they change during the matter?
The fees listed for our Pension Plan Review and Disability Pension Application Support services are fixed. For the Cross-Authority Recovery service, we discuss scope at the outset and confirm the fee in writing before any work begins. We do not add charges without your prior knowledge and agreement.
How is my personal information handled?
We treat all client information with strict confidentiality. Documents shared with us are used solely for the purpose of your matter and are not disclosed to any third party without your consent, except where required by law. Our approach to data handling is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Do I need to attend your office in person?
An initial meeting at our Nimmanhaemin Road office is often useful, particularly for the pension review service. For ongoing correspondence and document handling, we can accommodate arrangements by post or secure email where personal attendance is not practicable. We are happy to discuss what works best for your situation when you first contact us.
