Pension Legal Services, Clearly Scoped
We offer three defined services, each with a clear description, a fixed or agreed fee, and a stated process. No vague retainers, no open-ended engagements without your informed agreement.
Return to HomepageHow We Approach Each Matter
Every engagement begins with a full reading of available documentation before any opinion is formed. We do not offer views on situations we have not examined. After the review stage, we set out findings and options in writing. From that point, further steps are taken only with your knowledge and agreement.
Review
Full reading of your documents and correspondence before any position is taken.
Written Summary
Findings, options, and next steps in writing. Nothing verbal-only.
Coordinated Action
If further steps are warranted, we handle correspondence with authorities and keep you informed throughout.
Pension Plan Review for Retirees
A careful, sit-down review of an existing pension arrangement for individuals already drawing pension benefits or approaching retirement age. The session covers the calculation basis, any supplements or deductions applied, and a comparison with what the client's contribution history would typically support. Where discrepancies are identified, we prepare a written summary and discuss possible courses of action. The aim is to give you a clear picture of where you stand.
- Calculation basis reviewed against contribution records
- Supplements, deductions, and adjustments explained
- Written summary of findings included
- Discussion of options if discrepancies are found
Process Steps
You provide copies of your pension documentation, recent statements, and employment history summary.
We review all materials before the session and identify areas requiring clarification.
A session (typically 60–90 minutes) is held at our office or by arrangement.
Written summary with findings and, where applicable, options for further action is sent within five working days.
Disability Pension Application Support
Assistance with applications for disability pension entitlements, where the procedural and medical documentation requirements can be substantial. We coordinate with the client to assemble medical records, employment history, and supporting statements, and prepare the application file in the form expected by the relevant authority. Where additional medical assessments are required, we provide guidance on what to expect and accompany the client through the procedural steps.
- Medical records and employment history coordination
- Application file prepared to authority standards
- Guidance through additional medical assessments if required
- Procedural accompaniment at key steps
Process Steps
Initial consultation to assess the nature of disability, employment history, and existing documentation.
Coordination of medical records, including identification of any gaps and how to address them.
Preparation of the complete application file with all required supporting documentation.
Submission to the relevant authority with follow-up on requests for additional information.
Coordinated Cross-Authority Pension Recovery
A long-form service for clients whose pension matters involve more than one authority — for example, a state pension, a former employer's occupational scheme, and a private contribution. The work begins with a comprehensive review of all relevant correspondence and documentation, and proceeds through coordinated written engagement with each authority in turn. The client receives a single point of contact and consolidated written updates throughout. Timelines for matters of this kind are typically several months to a year.
- Comprehensive review of all schemes and authorities
- Single dedicated contact person throughout
- Consolidated written updates as each strand develops
- Coordination with state, occupational, and private pension bodies
Process Steps
Full inventory of all pension schemes and correspondence received from each authority.
Written summary of the overall position, identifying which authorities are involved and the status of each strand.
Sequential engagement with each authority through coordinated written correspondence.
Regular consolidated updates to you, with all documentation retained and available on request.
